Un’impronta sbagliata per lo studio medico può rappresentare perdite di tempo, prolungamenti della permanenza del paziente sulla poltrona, spreco di materiali costosi, incomprensioni con il laboratorio odontotecnico, nuovi appuntamenti che recano danno al paziente e all’odontoiatra con compromissione dell’immagine stessa dello studio. Nel corso degli anni dalle impronte rilevate utilizzando cera, nel XVII secolo, siamo passati al gesso, poi alla guttaperca. Intorno al 1925 troviamo gli idrocolloidi, successivamente gli alginati, siliconi per condensazione e polieteri. Dal 1976 circa in poi troviamo i siliconi per addizione e molti altri ancora ne verranno. Le portaimpronta sono rimaste sostanzialmente le stesse dalla loro prima invenzione ad oggi. FDA posts consumer information about the most serious medical recalls. These products are on the list becase there is a reasonable chance thet they could cause serious healt problems or death. Use the yearly lists to find information about Class I medical device recalls and some Class II and III recalls of interest to consumers. The links give details about what to do if you own or use one of these products. Please note that FDA now lists medical device recall notices by the date that it posts the recall rather than the recall initiation date.  You can find the date that a firm initiated a recall in the text of the recall notice.
